معرفی دانشگاه لیورپول

 دانشگاه لیورپول (University of Liverpool) دانشگاهی است در شهر لیورپول در انگلستان . هشت نفر از دانشجویان این دانشگاه برنده جایزه نوبل شده اند. این دانشگاه همواره در رشته هایی مانند مهندسی، پزشکی، دندانپزشکی، بازرگانی و حقوق پیشگام بوده است. دانشگاه لیورپول خوابگاه های زیادی را در اختیار دانشجویان خود علی الخصوص دانشجویان خارجی خود قرار می دهد. یک تیم حمایت از دانشجویان تازه وارد خارجی در دانشگاه وجود دارد که تمام برنامه های دانشجویان را هماهنگ می کند. خوابگاه دانشجویان کارشناسی ارشد بدون غذا ارائه می شود و خود دانشجویان بایستی غذای خود را تهیه کنند. 

دانشگاه لیورپول یکی از دانشگاه هایی است که دانشجویان علاقمند به تحصیل در انگلستان را به خود جذب می کند.درخواست پذیرش در دانشگاه لیورپول در سال ۲۰۱۵ بیست و هشت درصد افزایش یافت، که این آمار بسیار بالاتر از دیگر دانشگاه‌ها بود. درخواست محل اقامت نیز برای سومین سال با افزایشی بی‌سابقه همراه بود. راهکار دانشگاه‌ برای پاسخ به این حجم از درخواست، افزودن هشتصد فضای جدید برای اقامت دانشجویان مقطع کارشناسی بود. دانشگاه لیورپول در حال اجرای یک طرح سرمایه‌گذاری ششصد میلیون پوندی جهت گسترش فضای اسکان دانشجویی و تجهیز و توسعه‌ی امکانات در سایر پردیس‌ها است. یک برنامه‌ی ده‌ ساله نیز به‌تازگی به ارتقای تسهیلات آموزشی و پژوهشی و نیز امکانات فراغت دانشجویان انجام شده‌است.

آزمایشگاه‌های آموزشی جدیدی که برای رشته‌های علوم پایه راه‌اندازی شده‌اند، در شمار پیشرفته‌ترین آزمایشگاه‌های اروپا به شمار می‌روند. دانشگاه لیورپول با تمرکز بر ارائه‌ی امکانات پژوهش‌های بین رشته‌ای برای علوم زیستی و سلامت‌محور، برنامه‌ای هفتاد میلیون پوندی را در حال اجرا دارد که در آن بیش از ۶۰۰ دانشمند در حوزه‌ی مهم‌ترین معضلات سلامت‌نگر قرن بیست و یکم به همکاری با یکدیگر می‌پردازند.

اکثر دانشجویان این دانشگاه این امکان را دارند که یکسال به مطالعه، تحقیق و تحصیل در چین بپردازند، چرا که دانشگاه لیورپول در همکاری با دانشگاه ژیان ژیاتوتونگ  پردیسی در شهر تاریخی سوژو دارد. این دانشگاه که در رده‌بندی‌های QS در شمار بهترین دانشگاه‌های گروه کشورهای بریلکس (شامل برزیل، روسیه، هند، چین و آفریقای جنوبی) قرار گرفته‌است، در انتظار حضور ده هزار دانشجوی جدید تا پایان سال جاری است. دانشگاه لیورپول در شهر لندن صاحب یک مرکز دوره‌های حرفه‌ای برای فارغ‌التحصیلان شده‌است. این دانشگاه همکاری‌های مشترکی نیز با دانشگاه‌هایی در شیلی، مکزیک، و اسپانیا دارد. این همکاری‌ها این امکان را برای دانشجویان فراهم آورده‌اند که از طریق کاریابی‌ها و یا پروژه‌های مشترک بخشی از دوره‌ی آموزشی خود را در این مؤسسات بگذرانند.

گرچه دانشگاه لیورپول درصدد افزایش دانشجویانی است که در این دوره‌های بین‌المللی به تحصیل بپردازد، اما همزمان به فکر گسترش دوره‌هایی خاص برای دانشجویانی است که به هر دلیلی امکان سفرهای برون‌مرزی را ندارند. در همین راستا به ارائه‌ی دوره‌هایی مبتنی بر وب و آنلاین پرداخته‌است. ده هزار دانشجو از سراسر دنیا از این دوره‌ها بهره‌مند می‌شوند. فضاهای ورزشی و بیرونی دانشگاه نوسازی شده و یک باشگاه ورزشی جدید نیز در سایت گرین بنک هالز افتتاح شده‌است. یک استخر  بیست و پنج متری نیز در دسترس دانشجویان و عموم مردم است. این دانشگاه دارای یکی از بزرگترین مراکز ارتباط با بازار کار بوده، و به همین منظور برنامه‌ای را برای ارتباط فارغ‌التحصیلان با کارفرمایان و افزایش مهارت‌های استخدامی آنان تدارک دیده‌است. بیش از دو میلیون پوند صرف ایجاد دوره‌های کارآموزی برای دانشجویان و فارغ‌التحصیلان شده‌است.

در سال ۲۰۱۱، دانشگاه متعهد به سرمایه گذاری ۶۶۰ میلیون پوند در زمینه ارتقاء «تجربه دانشجویی» شد که ۲۵۰ میلیون پوند از آن برای اقامت دانشجویی صرف خواهد شد. یکی از این طرح ها، دو خوابگاه بزرگ داخل پردیس است. اولین آنها، واین کورت ، در سپتامبر ۲۰۱۲ افتتاح گردید؛ بخش های بعدی شامل ساختمان های جدید علوم دامپزشکی و بازسازی انجمن دانشجویی لیورپول  می شود. آزمایشگاه های مرکزی جدید آموزش فیزیک، علوم زمین، شیمی و باستان شناسی در پاییز ۲۰۱۲ افتتاح شدند. در سال ۲۰۱۳، دانشگاه لیورپول یک پردیس اقماری در میدان فینسبوری لندن، افتتاح نمود که در آن دوره های متمرکز کارشناسی ارشد ارائه می گردد. کانون مرکزی تدریس  یک ساختمان بزرگ چند منظوره است که دارای مجتمع سخنرانی  و امکانات پیشرفته تدریس  برای گروه های شیمی، فیزیک و علوم زیست محیطی در داخل پردیس مرکزی مرکز شهر است. این پروژه در سپتامبر ۲۰۱۲ با هزینه ۲۳ میلیون پوند تکمیل و افتتاح شد. ساختمان اصلی، آزمایشگاه مرکزی آموزش در اطراف حیاط بزرگ ساخته شده است و هفت آزمایشگاه جداگانه دارد که می تواند ۱۶۰۰ دانشجو را در خود جای دهد. فضای تدریس انعطاف پذیر، مرکز کامپیوتر، فضاهای آموزشی چندگانه و فضای کار تیمی نیز در داخل وجود دارد. ساختمان مجاور دانشگاه شامل چهار سالن سخنرانی و چند سالن اجتماعات دیگر است.

لیورپول  شهری بندری در شمال غربی انگلستان واقع در منطقه مرزیساید است. این شهر در پای‌رود مِرزی قرار دارد. لیورپول در سال ۱۲۰۷ قصبه‌ای کوچک بود که در سال ۱۸۸۰ به یک شهر تبدیل شد. در سرشماری سال ۲۰۱۱ جمعیت لیورپول ۴۶۶٬۴۱۵ نفر و جمعیت در این منطقه شهری ۲٬۲۴۱٬۰۰۰ بود، با این وجود لیورپول چهارمین منطقه شهری پرجمعیت در بریتانیا است . ساکنان بومی شهر لیورپول اسکاوس خوانده می‌شوند. قدیمی‌ترین اجتماع چینی اروپا در لیورپول زندگی می‌کنند. در سال ۲۰۰۷ جشن هشت‌صد سالگی شهر لیورپول برگزار شد و یک سال بعد، این شهر در سال ۲۰۰۸ به عنوان پایتخت فرهنگی اروپا نام گرفت. یکی از شاخصه‌های شهرت لیورپول در جهان، گروه راک بیتلز است. از دیگر شاخصه‌های شهرت این شهر برگزاری بزرگترین مسابقه سالانه اسب‌سواری در جهان به‌نام "گرند نشنال" و باشگاه فوتبال لیورپول هستند. در پی بسته شدن اسکله‌های این شهر در اوایل دهه هفتاد میلادی، اقتصاد شهر رو به افول گذارد، هر چند بتازگی پروژه‌های شهرسازی سبب رونق دوباره آن شده‌است. با وجود چهره مدرن و با شکوه در مرکز شهر، لیورپول هنوز با مشکلات بزرگی مانند فقر، بی کاری و جرم و جنایت دست به گریبان است. مردم لیورپول فوتبال دوست هستند. همچنین به شعر و شاعری و ادبیات اهمیت زیادی می‌دهند و اکثرشان اشعار زیادی را از شعرای بزرگ انگلستان حفظ هستند. در مراکز تئاتر شهر، هر هفته تئاتری از نمایشنامه‌های شکسپیر برگزار می‌شود ساختمان یونیتی تئاتر این شهر قدمتی ۳۰۰ ساله دارد که همیشه مملو از تماشاچیان علاقه‌مند به تئاتر است. یکی دیگر از علایق مردم شهر لیورپول این است که در تمامی مراسم مناسبتی، آتش‌بازی به راه می‌اندازند.

لیورپول که امروزه پس از لندن، دومین بندر مهم بریتانیاست، در سال ۱۲۰۷م، دهکده‌ای کوچک بود. تا اواخر قرن هفدهم نیز شهری کوچک و بندری کم‌اهمیت باقی ماند. در این دوران، هم‌زمان با رونق تجارت بَرده و تعطیلی بندر چستر(Chester)، به‌دلیل مشکل‌شدن تردد بر روی رودخانۀ دی(River Dee) به‌دلیل رسوبات، رشد صنعتی در بندر لیورپول آغاز شد. همچنین، افزایش تجارت با امریکا و هند غربی، بیشتر رونق‌گرفتن آن را باعث شد. در سال ۱۷۱۵، نخستین بندرگاه تجاری بریتانیا در این شهر ساخته شد. در شروع قرن نوزدهم، بخش مهمی از تجارت جهانی ازطریق این بندر صورت می‌گرفت. در این دوران، جمعیت شهر افزایش چشمگیری پیدا کرد که بیشتر، به‌دلیل ورود مهاجران ایرلندی جویای کار بود. در قرن بیستم نیز سیل مهاجرت از سراسر اروپا به این شهر، به‌عنوان نقطۀ شروع سفر به دنیای جدید، آغاز شد. در سال ۱۹۱۲، کشتی تایتانیک در این بندر ثبت شد و راه خود را از ساوث‌همپتون به مقصد نیویورک در امریکا آغاز کرد. در حادثۀ اسف‌بار غرق کشتی، ۱،۵۱۴مسافر جان خود را از دست دادند که بسیاری از آنها اهل لیورپول بودند.

لیورپول به عنوان پایتخت فرهنگی اروپا در سال ۲۰۰۸ انتخاب شد که البته برای به دست آوردن این عنوان میلیون‌ها پوند خرج اصلاحات و نوسازی شد. مقامات مسئول در لیورپول حدود ۳۵۰ برنامه را تدارک دیدند تا سبب جذب گردشگران زیادی شوند. مطمئناً یکی از بزرگترین پیامدهای یک چنین موفقیتی، جلب سرمایه‌گذاری و جذب توریست بیشتر و در نتیجه درآمد سرشار برای این شهر خواهد بود. به این ترتیب بود که اقتصاد لیورپول توانست ۱۰۰ میلیون پوند افزایش درآمد کسب کند. نوسازی لیورپول برای به دست آوردن عنوان پایتخت فرهنگی اروپا، شامل احداث یک سالن ۱۰ هزار نفری با هزینه‌ای ۱۵۰ میلیون پوندی بوده‌است. از سوی دیگر بر فراز این شهر روزانه صدها کبوتر پرواز می‌کنند. این کبوتران که پس‌مانده‌ها فست فودها را می‌خورند و با مدفوعشان شهر را کثیف می‌کنند، مایه خجالت مردمان این شهر فرهنگی اروپا شده‌اند، لذا شهردار شهر لیورپول برای خلاص شدن از مشکلات جمعیت روزافزون کبوتران این شهر دست به دامان فناوری روباتیک شد، از این رو شاهین‌های روباتیک را بر فراز شهر به پرواز درآوردند تا سبب ترس و فراری دادن کبوتران شوند، این شاهین‌های مکانیکی بالهایشان را به هم می‌زنند و جیغ می‌کشند و کبوتران را می‌ترسانند این طرح هم ۲۰ هزار پوند هزینه دربرداشت.

لیورپول بیش از ۲۵۰۰ بنا و ساختمان قدیمی با معماری باستانی دارد. آب نمای شهر که در لیست مکان‌های باستانی یونسکو قرار گرفته‌است. موزه داک مملو از اشیای باستانی می‌باشد و این مستثنای ۲۵۰ اثر تاریخی است. مکان‌های عبادتی تاریخی ای همچون کلیسای سنت نیکلاس برای ارتدکس‌ها و کلیسای گوستاو آدولف برای کاتولیک‌ها در این شهر وجود دارد. این شهر یک مسجد نیز دارد که برای مسلمانان این شهر به‌خاطر برگزاری مراسم آیینی مسلمانان از جمله نماز جمعه ساخته شده است، اکثر جمعیت مسلمان، پاکستانی و عرب هستند حتی در این شهر معابدی برای هندوها نیز وجود دارد که دارای قدمتی ۲۰۰ ساله است. لیورپول صاحب پنجمین کلیسای بزرگ دنیا می‌باشد.  هواپیما، قطار، اتوبوس و کشتی جزو وسایل نقلیه مهم این شهر می‌باشند. برای مثال از لندن تا لیورپول می‌توان با هواپیما یا قطار یا اتوبوس سفر کرد. اما قیمت‌ها بسیار متفاوت هستند. ارزان‌ترین وسیله سفر به لیورپول قطار می‌باشد. افرادی که از فرودگاه جان لنون قصد وارد شدن به شهر را دارند می‌توانند با اتوبوس‌های ارزان‌قیمت و بزرگ که جا برای چمدان‌های بزرگ هم دارد، نقل مکان کنند. قطارهای برقی نیز یکی دیگر از وسایل نقلیه مهم در این شهر هستند.

اقتصاد شهر لیورپول یکی از بزرگ‌ترین اقتصادهای انگلستان است که در مرکز یکی از دو اقتصاد اصلی شمال غرب انگلستان جای دارد. در سال ۲۰۰۶، ارزش‌افزوده ناخالص (GVA) شهر ۷,۶۲۶ میلیون پوند بود که میزان سرانه آن ۱۷,۴۸۹ پوند می‌شود که بیشتر از میانگین ناحیه شمال غرب انگلیس است. اقتصاد لیورپول از میانه دهه ۱۹۹۰ رشد بسیار خوبی داشته و میزان ارزش‌افزوده ناخالص آن بین سال‌های ۱۹۹۵ تا ۲۰۰۶، ۸/۷۱ درصد و میزان اشتغال در بین سال‌های ۱۹۹۸ تا ۲۰۰۶ چیزی بالغ‌بر ۱۲ درصد رشد داشته است. سرانه تولید ناخالص داخلی (GDP) در سال ۲۰۱۴ برابر با ۳۲,۱۲۱ دلار و کل تولید ناخالص داخلی ۸/۶۵ میلیارد دلار بوده است. همانند دیگر شهرهای انگلستان امروز، اقتصاد لیورپول عمدتاً صنعتی است که در هر دو بخش دولتی و خصوصی توسعه‌یافته است. در سال ۲۰۰۷ بالغ‌بر ۶۰ درصد همه شاغلین این شهر در حوزه مدیریت عمومی، آموزش، بهداشت، بانکداری، مالی و بیمه مشغول به کار بوده‌اند. در چند دهه‌ی اخیر با تأسیس مرکز دانش لیورپول در حوزه‌هایی همچون رسانه و علوم زندگی رشد قابل‌توجهی در دانش اقتصادی لیورپول صورت گرفته است. غنای معماری لیورپول نیز سبب شده تا این شهر در ناحیه خارج از لندن، دومین شهر به لحاظ حجم فیلم‌برداری صورت گرفته در آن باشد.

لیورپول گالری‌ها و موزه‌های بیشتری به نسبت دیگر شهرهای پایتخت انگلستان دارد، خیلی از این اماکن ورودی رایگان دارند. این شهر دارای ۱۵ تئاتر و سالن نمایش است که از سالن هنرهای مدرن لیورپول  گرفته تا سالن نمایش فیلارمونیک  که مرکز ارکستر فیلارمونیک لیورپول است در این شهر به چشم می‌خورد. تئاتر سلطنتی لیورپول دومین و بزرگ‌ترین تئاتر کشور است که از بهترین بازیگران محلی، استعدادهای جهانی بهره گرفته و اغلب میزبان نمایش‌هایی از غرب لندن است. تئاتر سلطنتی رویال کورت لیورپول  به شما این تضمین را می‌دهد تا شبی پر از سرگرمی را با هنرمندی کمدین ها و نمایش‌های موزیکال سال با بازیگرانی مشهور و خدمه‌ای عالی تجربه کنید. سالن‌های تئاتر اِوریمن  و پلی هاوس  تلفیقی الکترونیک از تئاتر پیشرو در شرایط خوب است. تئاتر اوریمن در سال ۲۰۱۴ جایزه  را برای بهترین و جدیدترین ساختمان تئاتر سال به خود اختصاص داد. خیابان زیبای ویلیام براون در نزدیک ایستگاه لایم استریت لیورپول  قرار دارد که در آن شاهد مجموعه‌های زیبایی فرهنگی خواهید بود ازجمله گالری هنر واکر که گالری ملی ناحیه شمالی است، موزه جهان  و کتابخانه مرکزی لیورپول  و باغ‌های سنت جان قرار دارند.

شهر لیورپول انگلستان سه دانشگاه دارد: دانشگاه لیورپول (University of Liverpool)، دانشگاه جان مورز لیورپول (Liverpool John Moores University) و دانشگاه لیورپول هوپ (Liverpool Hope University). دانشگاه اج هیل (Edge Hill University) به‌عنوان کالج آموزشی معلمان در منطقه اج هیل لیورپول بنا شده است.موسسه هنرهای نمایشی لیورپول نیز در لیورپول فعالیت می‌کند.

Har Gobind Khorana was an Indian-American biochemist. While on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, he shared the 1968 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Marshall W. Nirenberg and Robert W. Clive Barker is an English writer, film director, and visual artist. Barker came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of short stories, the Books of Blood, which established him as a leading horror writer.
